HRC July Newsletter

The month of July has been considered the “lazy days” of summer and in the case of Hoboken and cannabis, it should be considered the “to be continued” month. There are so few updates and conclusions to relay this month, we considered skipping a newsletter entirely.  However, in an effort to keep everyone informed, we decided short and informed is better than nothing and wondering.

July Highlights

Terrapin is ready to open to customers once the final state inspection is completed.  We should see the doors open for medicinal sales in August.

The Condo Association’s request for Summary Judgement was denied in the case of the Story Dispensary.  It’s unclear from the Court documents why it was denied, but since that decision, there has been a flurry of activity on the docket relating to additional depositions that Fulop/Nussbaum want from individual condo owners.  There is a Motion to Compel depositions by the defendants and a Motion to Quash depositions by the Plaintiffs.  Needless to say, these motions are working their way through the court system and seem to have sidetracked things a bit. The trial date is still set for August 28th.

HRC vs Blue Violets and Hoboken Planning Board have another court appearance scheduled in August.  While we were all hoping to have a resolution to this litigation in July.  The judge requested additional briefs be filed and another court date is scheduled for August 31, 2023.

The additional briefs that our attorney needs to provide to the court this month are more time and money.  Please consider making a contribution to support this litigation and thank you to those who have already contributed.
