Hoboken’s first dispensary is open and Story Dispensary goes back to the Planning board next week for site modification approval.

“The Station” (also known as Terrapin - 87 River Street) is open for business!

After a lengthy approval process and buildout, The Station, Hoboken’s first dispensary, opened for medical marijuana sales with little fanfare. The Station is waiting for a recreational license from the state, which they expect to receive in the upcoming months. Visit The Station website for more information.

Story Dispensary (51-53 14th Street) will return to the Planning Board on Tuesday, December 5th at 7 p.m. at Hoboken High School, 800 Clinton St.

Story Dispensary will present changes to their site plan to the Planning Board as part of their settlement agreement with the Condo Association. Residents interested in reviewing and asking questions about the changes should attend the meeting. Changes to be discussed:

  • Operating hours will change from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

  • The main entrance of the dispensary will move from 14th Street to Hudson Street. The 14th Street entrance will be for emergency egress and loading only. This will change the architecture plans for the space including waiting room layout, and capacity, and could possibly affect queuing – all of which was discussed at length at prior Planning Board hearings.

  • Story will not be allowed to have armed guards unless required by law, local or state agencies or if justified by a “triggering event.”

In September, the Condo Association at 51-53 14th Street settled a lawsuit with Story Dispensary, property owners Jaclyn Fulop and Drew Nussbaum, and the Hoboken Planning Board. The settlement has allowed an avenue for the dispensary to open in that location. To date, however, Story hasn’t received a state license to operate.
